KU Edwards Campus

Inclement Weather Policy

Edwards Campus staff monitor inclement weather very closely. Generally, the University does not close because of snow or other inclement weather. In the rare event that classes are suspended, the decision to cancel classes that start before 4 p.m. is made by 7 a.m. For classes that start after 4 p.m. a decision is made by 2 p.m.

The Edwards Campus maintains a class cancellation line and updates this message daily during inclement weather.

  • 4-8499 or 864-8499 (from Lawrence)
  • (913) 897-8499 (in Kansas City)

If classes are not canceled by campus administration, it is at the discretion of the faculty if they want to cancel their class or dismiss class early. Weather updates can be obtained by visiting weather Web sites or the library has a weather radio playing during inclement weather.
