Tools

The 2+2 Bachelor of Social Work completion program is a course of study offered as a partnership between the KU School of Social Welfare and Kansas City Kansas Community College (KCKCC) to provide upper-level social work courses in the Kansas City area. The program is targeted to those individuals who are completing or who have completed an associate's degree and are interested in pursuing a bachelor's degree. Students enrolled in the 2+2 BSW completion program take the upper-level social work courses required for the BSW with KU professors who teach on the KCKCC campus.

This program prepares students for work in public or private social agencies, in hospitals or other supervised health care settings. Social workers may respond to concerns such as aging, alcoholism, unemployment, homelessness, family violence, child abuse and neglect, health care and many other human service issues.

Curriculum
Like other transfer students, students enrolled in the 2+2 BSW program must complete all courses required for the BSW degree, including lower-level liberal arts requirements. Transcripts will be evaluated to assess the number of transfer credit hours and the completion of requirements. As with other programs at KU, only 64 credit hours are accepted for transfer from community colleges. Specific curriculum information for the 2+2 BSW program is available at the School of Social Welfareexternal link.
