Rob Hunter, adjunct professor of biotechnology, holds a doctorate in veterinary medical sciences from Louisiana State University, master’s in veterinary physiology from Texas A&M University and bachelor’s in animal science from Angelo State University.

Hunter has over 25 years of veterinary and human drug development experience with companies such as NASA, Pfizer, Elanco, Parnell and Provetica. He is an internationally recognized expert on pharmacokinetics, antimicrobial pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, interspecies allometry, bioequivalence, drug metabolism and human food safety.

Hunter has served on and chaired several Animal Heath Institute committees and represented the U.S. veterinary pharmaceutical industry internationally regarding specific products, issues and policies.

He currently serves as president of the American Academy of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics and as a member of the editorial boards for theJournal of Veterinary Pharmacology & Therapeutics, Journal of Zoo & Wildlife Medicine, Research in Zoology, American Journal of Bioavailability & Bioequivalence and the Journal of Primates.
