The Information Technology Bachelor of Science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET.

 

Undergraduate Program Objective

The Information Technology undergraduate program objective is that our graduates contribute to the IT profession, related fields and other disciplines through skilled professional practice in industry, government and/or graduate study. Within a few years after graduation, we expect that:

  • Graduates are meaningfully employed or pursuing graduate study in information technology or other high technology fields, with the majority retained in information technology or closely related areas
  • Graduates have a positive professional career path including promotions, leadership and/or continued education
  • Graduates recognize the value of their educational preparation for their current and future professional endeavors

Program Outcomes

Our program is designed to achieve our objective by establishing measurable learning outcomes, which graduates of the program must demonstrate:

  1. an ability to analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
  2. an ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
  3. an ability to communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
  4. an ability to recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles. 
  5. an ability to function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
  6. an ability to use systemic approaches to select, develop, apply, integrate, and administer secure computing technologies to accomplish user goals.
