Groups & Leadership Opportunities on Campus

As a student at KU Edwards, your leadership development is important to us. We believe in helping you grow as a leader in the areas of teamwork, innovation, and advocacy. With many unique clubs to choose from, there is sure to be an option to fit your personal and professional goals.

  • Adoption Group - Join other adopted students, faculty and staff to discuss topics surrounding identity and adoption. Email lbrownin@ku.edu for more info. You can also join our channel in Microsoft Teams.
  • BSIT JayHackers Club - The BSIT JayHackers is the Information Security Club that meets on the Edwards Campus. To join email Chris Seasholtz at chris@ku.edu for more info. 
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Cabinet - Join KUEC faculty and staff to discuss and work on various projects on campus related to diversity and inclusion. Email vrodriguezmendez@ku.edu for more info.
  • International Student Group - Interested in meeting other international students at KUEC? Join us to network and plan events for international students at KUEC. Email kuecservices@ku.edu for more info.
  • KU Edwards Honors Program - Are you an undergraduate student looking to get more out of your educational experience and find a community of intellectually-driven peers? Designed for transfer students who may or may not have engaged with an honors program before, the KU Edwards Honors Program will challenge you academically, set you up for professional success, and recognize the great work you've already accomplished. Check out our home page and decide whether it is right for you!
  • LGBTQ+ Group - Join us in trying to get this club off the ground! We would love to have you as a part of KUEC's first LGBTQ+ club on campus. Email arpope@ku.edu for more info. You can also join our channel in Microsoft Teams.

Transfer Undergraduate Orientation

  • Date/Time: August 17th from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm (CST) -Tabling begins at 4:30 pm

KU Welcome Week

  • Date/Time: August 22nd - 27th 
  • Description: Join Student Services in celebrating the beginning of the school semester. We will have tables set up throughout campus to help students find their way to class. Located on these tables we will have grab-and-go items and signage directing students to the Welcome and Success Center front desk where they can enter free drawings for items gifted by companies within the community!

KU Edwards Participates in Lawrence's FREE Feminist Book Fair

  • Date/Time: August 26th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
  • Description: Stop by the Hawk’s Nest for Free Feminist Book Fair Friday! While copies last, choose a free book from our collection, which explores a variety of feminist topics.

Popcorn & Planning (in-person)

  • Date/Time: September 6th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Description: This is a great way to build community while getting organized for the semester. While we are still at the beginning of the semester, this gives students a chance to begin planning how to study so that they start the semester strong! During this event, students will be able to build connections with fellow Edwards students pursuing different degrees.

SciFlix Series: Rear Window

  • Date/Time: September 9th at 6:30 pm
  • Description: SciFlix is a community outreach effort designed around taking the science, the theories, and the ethics in popular fiction and discussing it openly and honestly. Following the film, our moderator will introduce a panel of experts who will provide their reactions to the film and their insights in a Q&A session with event attendees. Our mission is to entertain the public with movies and refreshments and then fan the sparks of creative and critical thinking into life.

Homecoming at KU Edwards

  • Date/Time: September 26th - October 1st 
  • Description: oin KU Edwards for our weeklong celebration of Homecoming. This year we have partnered up with KU Lawrence for the theme of “Home on the Hill”  
  • Tuesday: Homecoming Hangout from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the Hawks Nest 
  • Wednesday: Homecoming on the Quad! Join us from 5:00 to 7:30 pm on the Quad where we will have food, yard games, and a prize drawing for KU Football Tickets!

Mellow Out Your Midterms

  • Date/Time: October 5th from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm
  • Description: Students will have the opportunity to relax and put their well-being first during a stressful academic time. We will be making bath bombs for self-care, as well as have access to self-calming activities. During this time students will have the ability to build connections with fellow students and staff.

  • Date/Time: October 14th at 6:30 pm

Lawrence Common Book: Disability Visibility by Alice Wong (Virtual Visit)

Student Services & SciFlix Series: Night of the Living Dead

One Health Day

  • Date/Time: November 1st from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Description: Kansas State University Olathe, BioNexus-KC, KU Medical Center, and KU Edwards Campus are hosting a Kansas City One Health Day as a part of International One Health Day. On this day College and High School students are invited to submit and abstract for a poster presentation. As a part of this event students may compete for cash scholarship awards. Submit title and abstract no more than 250 words to Sharon Newman, snewman@bionexuskc.org by October 18th.
