Groups & Leadership Opportunities on Campus

As a student at KU Edwards, your leadership development is important to us. We believe in helping you grow as a leader in the areas of teamwork, innovation, and advocacy. With many unique clubs to choose from, there is sure to be an option to fit your personal and professional goals.

  • BSIT JayHackers Club - The BSIT JayHackers is the Information Security Club that meets on the Edwards Campus. To join email Chris Seasholtz at chris@ku.edu for more info. 
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Cabinet - Join KUEC faculty and staff to discuss and work on various projects on campus related to diversity and inclusion. Email vrodriguezmendez@ku.edu for more info.
  • International Student Group - Interested in meeting other international students at KUEC? Join us to network and plan events for international students at KUEC. Email kuecservices@ku.edu for more info.
  • KU Edwards Honors Program - Are you an undergraduate student looking to get more out of your educational experience and find a community of intellectually-driven peers? Designed for transfer students who may or may not have engaged with an honors program before, the KU Edwards Honors Program will challenge you academically, set you up for professional success, and recognize the great work you've already accomplished. Check out our home page and decide whether it is right for you!
  • LGBTQ+ Group - Join us in trying to get this club off the ground! We would love to have you as a part of KUEC's first LGBTQ+ club on campus. Email arpope@ku.edu for more info. You can also join our channel in Microsoft Teams.
  • Pre-Med Club - Are you a pre-med student and looking to connect with others on a similar path through professional development opportunities? Email griffin.schenk@ku.edu for more info.

  • Multicultural Student Association - MSA is a bridge created to give students an opportunity to learn about and experience cultures and traditions from around the world. Grad Fair in partnership with the KU Bookstore

  • Date/Time: March 29th from 2 pm to 7 pm
  • Description: Are you graduating this year? If so, stop by the Hawk's Nest where you can purchase all of your graduation needs as well as have a photo taken in celebration of your graduation.

  • Date/Time: April 4th from 4 pm to 6:30 pm
  • Description: Sit back and relax while you create some delicious cake jars (they are as good as they sound) while sipping on mocktails from a small business in Kansas City named Just A Little Suga. RSVP is required and spots are limited please RSVP through our Eventbrite

Tunnel of Oppression 

  • Date/Time: April 3rd through the 7th
  • Description: This virtual event is a learning opportunity to examine some of the most complex and important issues facing society today around justice, equity, and inclusion. Join us to learn and reflect on the topics covered while creating a plan for how you can be the leaders forging a better world for all. 
  • Location: ZOOM RSVP now for individual sessions if your class is not attending as a group.

SciFlix Series: Radium Girls

  • Date/Time: April 14th at 6:30 pm
  • Description: SciFlix is a community outreach effort designed around taking the science, the theories, and the ethics in popular fiction and discussing it openly and honestly. Following the film, our moderator will introduce a panel of experts who will provide their reactions to the film and their insights in a Q&A session with event attendees. Our mission is to entertain the public with movies and refreshments and then fan the sparks of creative and critical thinking into life.

Grad Gathering

  • Date/Time: May 3rd from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm 
  • Description: If you are graduating from KU Edwards this semester, we encourage you to attend Grad Gathering. This is an informal celebration of your accomplishments. Friends and family are welcome! Brief remarks begin at 5:20 pm where we will be congratulating our KU Edwards Honors graduates. This is an informal come-and-go event.

School of Professional Studies Graduation

  • Date/Time: May 13th - Undergraduate Orientation begins at 11:00 am in the BEST Conference Center, Graduate Hooding Ceremony begins at 2:00 pm in the Regnier Hall Auditorium. If you are a graduating SPS student and have not recieved your email invitation please call 913-897-8400 as soon as possible as RSVP's are due by April 15th. 
  • Description: If you are graduating from the School of Professional Studies, please attend our formal recognition ceremony of you! We will have Master's Hooding as well as Undergraduate Recognitions. Please note that this is a formal event and regalia is needed. Note: to have your name on the formal Agenda you will need to apply for graduation by March 1st.

Commencement

  • Date/Time: May 14th at 10:30 am
