Biotech Class Visits
Looking for a way to get your students excited about biotechnology and give them resources to plan for college? Schedule a classroom visit to our campus! Your visit consists of morning activities that involve problem-solving and give students hands-on experience in the lab.
Specially designed for high school juniors and seniors, campus visits are a great way to introduce students to skills they’ll need in college science courses, and get them excited about science!
Students will:
- Learn how to practically apply biotechnology skills to solve real-world problems
- Discover steps they need to take in high school to prepare for an undergraduate degree in biotechnology
- Have a chance to ask questions about biotechnology careers, preparing for college, and degree programs.
- Have fun!

| 9:15 – 9:35 | Background lecture #1 |
| 9:30 – 10:15 | Students perform experimental work in the lab |
| 10:15 - 10:25 | Discuss Results and Break |
| 10:25 – 10:45 | Background lecture #2 |
| 10:45 – 11:30 | Students perform experimental work in the lab |
| 11:30 – 11:45 | Compile results and solve the day’s Science Challenge |
| 11:45 – Noon | Discuss degree options at KU Edwards and how to get involved |
