Johnson County Education Research Triangle 5th Anniversary Event
What:
The Johnson County Education Research Triangle (Triangle) was a one-eighth cent sales tax passed by Johnson County voters in November 2008 with the goal to create economic stimulus and a higher quality of life through new facilities for research and additional academic degree opportunities. The vote was the first time in the nation voters approved a local sales tax for life sciences and higher education initiatives. Now, five years later, positive results are ready to be shared by the Triangle partners—The University of Kansas Medical Center, The University of Kansas Edwards Campus and Kansas State University Olathe—at a 5-year community update event.
The Kansas Board of Regents, Triangle Authority Board, Kansas State University and The University of Kansas are sponsoring the event.

Why:
An economic impact study of the tax money utilized by the Triangle institutions will be unveiled as well as information on what the future holds for the three campuses. To date, nearly $72 million has been forwarded to the three Triangle institutions.
