Biography

Blake Bryant is the  program director for the Information Technology, and Applied Cybersecurity security degree programs on the University of Kansas Edwards Campus. Blake also provides oversight for the Data Analytics concentration within the Bachelor’s of Professional Studies program. In addition to Blake’s administrative duties, he also serves as a Professor of Practice, teaching courses within the Master's of Science in Information Technology program.  Blake's research focus is on computer networking, cybersecurity, software engineering and block chain.  

Prior to arriving at the University of Kansas, Blake served in the United States Army with assignments in the infantry, military intelligence, signal corps, and cyber branches, spanning more than 23 years of service.  Blake has also held senior technical and managerial positions within industry prior to arriving at the University of Kansas.  These assignments entailed working for Ernst & Young, Fishnet Security, Optiv Security, and as a consultant for over a dozen fortune 500 companies.  

Blake earned his Bachelor's of Science in Information Systems engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, his Master's of Science in Information Technology from the University of Kansas, and Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Kansas.

Blake also possesses multiple information technology related certifications, to include the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA), and Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP).  Additionally, Blake has completed specialized training from the department of defense in the planning and conduct of cyberspace operations.
