Biography

Deb Carter, Ed.D.

Deb Carter serves as Associate Director of Admissions and Enrollment for the University of Kansas School of Professional Studies, where she leads strategic initiatives to expand access in higher education. With more than 20 years of experience in teaching, consulting, and enrollment strategy, Deb has shaped programs and partnerships that support all learners, including adult and returning students navigating complex transitions.

She earned her Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi, where her research centered on re-engaging the Some College, No Credential population, students who stop out before earning a degree. Her scholarship examines employability, social benefits of higher education, and high-impact practices that improve outcomes for adult learners.

Throughout her career, Deb has taught and mentored students from kindergarten through graduate school, representing over 50 countries. She remains committed to helping learners leverage their strengths to achieve academic and career success.
