Biography

Julie Adkins is the natural resources program manager at Fort Meade, where she balances the needs of development on base with the preservation and enhancement of natural resources. Her work focuses on improving pollinator habitat, building healthy and resilient forest land, preserving wetlands, and managing animal species. Adkins started her federal career at the Environmental Protection Agency as a student intern and was later transferred to the Army Corps of Engineers where she did biological surveys and NEPA writing and review. She is a graduate of the University of Kansas Professional Science Master in environmental assessment program and received her bachelor’s degrees in environmental geography, and natural resources management from Pittsburg State University.
