Biography

Nayana Pampapura Madali is an assistant professor in the Information Technology program. She earned her master’s and doctorate from the University of North Texas majoring in Information Science and Data Science. Her research interests focus on misinformation diffusion, natural language processing, social media analytics, content analysis, machine learning model development and information behavior.

She has over six years of experience working in the IT industry with expertise on data analysis and visualization, software, and database systems, IWMS systems and consulting. From this experience, she has gained significant insight into the data collection, analysis along with model design, development, and implementation to varying industries including retail, telecommunication, and higher education.

Nayana teaches courses on software engineering and management and data science. Her primary responsibilities center around teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate level courses, particularly in data analytics concentration.

Nayana serves on the program committee for the International Council of Knowledge Management. She also serves as a peer reviewer for several conferences such as ASIS&T, ALISE, ICKM, iConference and so on.
