Biography —
Scott Schulte has more than 27 years of experience in the environmental field with a focus on the revitalization of natural and human communities and the built environment. He earned a Master of Urban Planning with an environmental and land use planning emphasis from KU in 2002. He is a senior environmental planner and natural resource discipline leader for Vireo, a community planning, landscape architecture, natural resource management and public engagement consulting firm that serves private and public sector clients in the Midwestern U.S. Scott also serves on the board and was the founding president of the Heartland Conservation Alliance (HCA), a not-for-profit alliance and urban land trust that helps regional organizations conserve land for natural and community benefits. Through HCA’s Conservation and Policy Work Groups, Scott is working with academic and not-for-profit partners and agencies to develop watershed scenario models, watershed “report cards”, conservation programs and public policy recommendations.
