Biography

Dr. Vandaveer received her B.S. in biology and B.A. in chemistry from Missouri Southern State University. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas, with an emphasis in Microbiology and Immunology, where her research interests were in targeting antigens to scavenger receptors to direct immune responses toward inflammation over antibody production. Following her time in Arkansas, she was a post-doctoral researcher in an analytical chemistry lab at the University of Kansas, where she examined the analysis of 8-OHdG and skin permeability utilizing microdialysis. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children, as well as reading, baking and outdoor activities.
