Biography

Stacey McIntosh-Lily, M.Ed, NIC was born and raised in Colorado as a native bilingual in both ASL and English. She is eternally grateful to her older sister, Drei, along with the Deaf and interpreting communities in Greeley and Denver, Colorado for helping shape her into who she is today. Currently, Stacey resides in Overland Park, KS with her amazing partner, 3 beautiful teenagers, 1 needy dog, and 3 lively cats. She is honored to work as current Program Director and Associate Professor of the Practice with the ASL & Deaf Studies team at the University of Kansas, Edwards Campus. In addition to her administrative duties as Program Director she teaches interpreting related courses with the focus of preparing students for entry into the stimulating and growing field of interpreting. Although she is full-time faculty, she continues to interpret whenever possible to ensure she never loses touch with the ever-changing demands of the field. She has been nationally certified since 1991 and began teaching interpreting in 1996.
