Biography

Steve Werninger helps the University of Kansas Edwards Campus run smoothly and grow strategically. As Project Manager for the School of Professional Studies, he leads cross-departmental initiatives that strengthen academic operations, faculty development, and space planning. He coordinates professional development programming for faculty and staff, manages institutional data reporting, and oversees scheduling operations as the School’s Scheduling Officer.

In addition to directing special projects, Steve serves as coordinator of the KU Edwards Campus Space Committee, guiding effective campus space planning and utilization. He earned his second master’s degree in Project Management from the University of Kansas in 2025 and applies that training to drive efficiency, collaboration, and service across programs. Outside of his administrative role, he currently teaches college algebra at a nearby university and will begin teaching project management at KU in Spring 2026.
