Teri Thompson, Ph.D.

Teri Thompson is a faculty member for the online graduate programs in organizational communication in the School of Professional Studies at the KU Edwards campus. Dr. Thompson’s teaching and research interests include organizational communication strategy, health communication, workplace power dynamics, diversity and dialogue, research methods (study design, research ethics, surveys, interviews and focus groups), gender and communication, and communication theory.

Prior to moving to the Kansas City area, Teri worked for 35 years as faculty at the University of Dayton. She also worked in training and development for the American Center for Management Development and the University of Delaware. In addition to teaching at KU, she currently edits the top-ranked international research journal, Health Communication.
