Biography —
Dr. Tom Bowlin is a Professor of the Practice in the Engineering Management Graduate Program, having taught courses and assisted with students’ culminating research projects for over 24 years. His teaching interests include quantitative modeling (optimization, simulation, queuing, and system dynamics); forecasting and statistics; and management and innovation.
Tom’s professional career includes over 12 years of operations enhancement-focused management consulting primarily in the healthcare industry, working with over 60 hospitals and large medical groups in positions with both an international accounting firm and the largest private hospital in the United States, and then through a company he started. Earlier in his career, he served as an assistant professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology’s School of Health Systems. He holds B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in industrial engineering from the University of Missouri.
