KU Edwards Campus and Professional & Continuing Education data collection and use

The University of Kansas Edwards Campus strives to use data in ways that are safe and beneficial to those who supplied it. Data we may collect

  • How you came to our site, such as from an organic search, email, online ad or referral from a non-KU site.
  • Pages on our website you visit, emails you open and links you click including how you arrived at a page, how much time you spent on a page and where you navigated to next.
  • Information you submit to forms or otherwise provide to us. This includes accounts you set up, filling out information request forms, like asking for more information about a program we offer, registering for a program or event, performing a search on our site, completing surveys, emailing us and engaging in web chat.
  • Information made available through technology: your IP address and its designated geographic location, browser, operating system, device type (desktop, mobile, tablet, etc), public social media account information, interactions with our digital content including our webpages, and interactions with emails we send.
  • Information made available to us by third parties, especially education search services such as GMASS and ETS as well as organizations we partner with when hosting events such as academic conferences. This also includes information that may be passed to us by advertising platforms including Google, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.


How we may use data

  • We do not sell or license data to any third parties.
  • In certain instances, we may partner with another organization and share information with them. A common example would be if an organization hires our event management services, we provide the attendee registration functionality on our website, and we subsequently share the names of registrants with our partner organization who hired us to help with the event.
  • Your data may be stored in commercially available systems produced by reputable vendors. KU has made reasonable efforts to assure their data security practices are sufficient. Those vendors include Amazon Web Services, Google, Hubspot, Entrinsik, Wufoo, and Drupal.
  • Your data may be used to customize website or email content based on your past interactions with our digital content.
  • Your data is used to contact you about programs or events we believe you might be interested in. This includes mailing, emailing or calling you.
  • Statistical analysis of our website including traffic, user paths, exit points and more.
  • We may share your data when required by law or public authorities to do so.


The University of Kansas and its affiliates may collect and use additional data that is not within the custody of the KU Edwards Campus. This includes academic applications, job applications, donor information, payment information and more.
